Paradise Lost is my absolute most favorite poem ever. I love it so much that I have the entire first book memorized and if I’m ever in the same room with you I’ll probably force you to listen to me recite it. Lucifer has quite a few monologues in Book One and his rhetoric is sublime but this is my favorite. It’s so cunning and manipulative and brilliant.
